Contact the Archivist

The case files are open. So is this inbox.

The What Happened To Archive is a one-person operation. If you're reaching out, you're reaching the Archivist directly.

Good reasons to get in touch

You have a correction. If something in a Case File is factually wrong, the Archivist wants to know. Digital history is fragmentary and mistakes happen. Send the specific claim, your source, and the Case File it appears in. Corrections are taken seriously and made transparently.

You have a lead. Something from the 90s or early 2000s that disappeared without a proper record. A platform, a brand, a corner of the internet that nobody has written about. If it fits the archive, it might become a Case File.

You represent a rights holder. If you have a concern about how a brand or asset is being used on this site, please read the Disclaimer first, then get in touch. Most things can be resolved with a conversation.

You want to collaborate. Press, partnerships, or other inquiries — the Archivist is open to hearing from you.

Response times vary. The archive runs on one person and a lot of archived web pages.
